History:  Attended Indiana University and rode in the Little 500 (3) times and was awarded the Christopher A. Bowden Scholarship for Leadership senior year.  

Highlights:  2007 Cat 1/2 District Criterium Champion.  Ended 2007 season Nationally ranked 3rd in 30-34 Criterium.  2005 Cat 1/2 District Road Race Champion.  3 Time Ironman finisher.   Currently drowning in diapers, diapers, diapers

 

 

ROBBIE BALLARD

HARRY CLARK

Nickname:   scary, Scruffy

Living:  Graduate of USI in Evansville with a BS in Business Administration and Accounting.  MBA from USI as well.  Currently a Compliance Analyst with DuCharme McMillen & Associates in Indianapolis.

History:  Played soccer, tennis and ran cross country and track up through high school.  Also bowled!  Then found cycling and began racing in 1993 and joined a Louisville team i 1994...have enjoyed being a part of strong, highly successful Lville teams ever since.  USCF and ABR wins number over 100 throughout the years (5 road and 5 track in 07), but still looking for a lot more...and a jersey or two would be nice.

Highlights:  Overall series wins in the IRS Cat 1,2 series 2002-2004 after previously finishing top three the previous three years.  Hoosier Cup Series Overall winner 2002.  Silver Medal 2003 Masters National Criterium and double Medalist int he 2007 Masters National Track Championships.

History:  Competitive runner for 10 years (cross country/track) and a 2-time NAIA All-American on the track. Moved to Louisville, KY in August of 2002 to work on Ph.D in physiology at UofL.

Highlights:  1st place 2005 Cub Run Cycling Classic, 2nd place Vandervort's Corner Road Race, 2nd place 2005 Batesville "Cool" Criterium, 4th place 2005 Avery Trace Road Race. 3rd place 2004 KY State Championship.

Living:  Regional Sales Representative for Madison Chemical Co.

History:  Former mountain bike racer.  Competed in several 24 hour races including:  24 hours of Cannan and Moab.

ERIK FAGERBERG

Living:  Purchasing Agent for E&H Electric Supply Co.

History:  Moved to Louisville from Kansas in 1993.  Racing over 20 years.  Has won State Championships in KS, KY, and IN.

Highlights:  In 2001, finished the season as USCF #1 ranked Masters racer.  Won 15 races in 2004.
 

 


GLENN HOMZA

Living: Retired from General Electric after 26 years in various managerial positions.

History:  Raced competitively since 1985.  Has won numerous KY and IN cycling Championships and is one of the top 50+ racers in the country.

History: Former semi-pro mountain bike racer.  Switched to road racing in the mid-90s and has won several KY/IN District and State Championships.

Highlights:  Finished 6th in 2003 Masters National 35-39 Road Race.  Masters National Tandem podium in 2005. Masters National Tandem TT & RR podium in 2006 &2007.  Named Louisville's Fittest Father in 2004.

 

 

CLAYTON OMER

HISTORY:   Learned to ride a bike because he was jealous of the bully.  Started BMX at age 6 with father Tim "The Legend" Omer.  Got a road and mountain bike later on and started racing with the Roark/Texas Roadhouse junior team.

HIGHLIGHTS:  9th Elite Juniors 06 National Cyclocross Championships.  KY State High School Mountain Bike Champion.  Ky Junior Cyclocross Champion.
 

 

 

JOHN SCHNATTER

LIVING Founder of Papa John's Pizza 

Family Annette, wife.  3 Children.

History:  Started his pizza business in 1984 in the broom closet of his father's tavern.  Today, Papa John's boasts nearly 3000 restaurants in 49 states and 15 International markets.

Highlights:  Standout baseball player and track runner in high school.  Won the celebrity race at the inaugural Papa John's Labor Day Live Crit event.  Looks forward to pouring his energy in the bike.

STEVE SPANBAUER

Living: Board Certified Internist at the VA hospital in Louisville.

Family:  Karen, wife.

History:  Accomplished guitarist, singer, songwriter that performs with wife, Karen, in their original alternative rock band, Olive Trees.  2001 TN State Masters RR Champion.  2003 - 2 Masters National Championships (35-39 RR, 70+ tandem).  Named "Best All-Around Road Rider 35-39.  #1 USCF ranking (35-39 road) in 2003 and 2004.  2004 - 2 Bronze medals at the Masters National Championships (70+ tandem RR, 70+ tandem TT).  

Highlights:   In 2005 Stephen won 15 races including the KY/IN District 30+ criterium championship, the Highling Rim Classic RR, and the Midwest Championship stage race.  He also finished 2nd in six races including the Whitefish Bay Lakefront RR at Superweek.  He was 3rd in the Masters National Tandem RR in Park City Utah. 2006 Masters National Tandem Road Champion.

 

 


WARD ZAUNER

NICKNAME:  Weird

OCCUPATION:  Naval Officer; currently Commanding Officer of Navy Operational Support Center Louisville.

FAMILY:  Hisami - wife

HISTORY:  Career Naval Officer with 17 years service.  Has over 2000 hours of flight time in the E-2C Hawkeye and over 1000 hours int he E-3A AWACS.  Recently completed a Masters in National Security at the Naval War College in Newport, RI

HIGHLIGHTS:  Racing competitively since 1984.  In 1987 was the first American to win the Belieze Road Race (144 miles).  Placed 26th overall in the 1988 Tour of Guatemala and was 2nd in the sprint points competition; placed 2nd in the 1988 category 1/2 Florida State RR; #1 ranked 40+ rider in Rhode Island an ranked 8th in New England for the 2005 season; 2nd in the Ky State Cyclocross 35+ Championships; 2nd overall in the Ohio Valley Cyclocross Series.
